Senior Project Manager, Environmental Assessment and Remediation

Arc Environmental, a leading environmental consulting and professional services firm in the Mid-Atlantic region, has been serving clients for over 30 years. Position Overview:

Arc Environmental is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Environmental Assessment and Remediation team. We are seeking a uniquely qualified Senior Project Manager that will manage various projects while scoping, mapping, and providing excellent consultative services to and with our dynamic clients and customers.

Our Senior Project Manager will manage task orders and assigned contracts; develop and inspire junior staff; draft and provide quality control for deliverables; and client support. The successful candidate will also perform periodic field assessments and inspections. Responsibilities:

  • Development of sampling/work plans for a variety of site assessment and remediation related projects.
  • Production of cost estimates and proposals for clients.
  • Coordination and scheduling of field assessments.
  • Proactive management of project related tasks.
  • Perform quantification and assessment/sampling.
  • Evaluate and interpret sampling data while developing project deliverables.
  • Maintain existing client relations and develop new partnerships.
  • Track project deadlines and budgets while assisting in invoicing and project closeout.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
  • 12 -15 years of professional experience conducting environmental investigations and remediation services.
  • 12 -15 years of project management experience.

Desired Licenses/Certifications:

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and subsequent 8-Hour refreshers
  • PE is desired but not required.

Division Manager, Industrial Hygiene

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Division Manager for immediate hire and offering a sign on bonus for prospective candidates. Our Division Manager opportunity is new due to growth as we expand our enterprising Industrial Hygiene Team, Our Division, Program Manager will spearhead projects related to asbestos, mold, lead-based paint, indoor air quality, health & safety, and abatement design. This position requires both technical expertise and strong leadership skills, with an ask of 10+ years of related project management experience!

Responsibilities:

  • Development of sampling/work plans and production of cost estimates and proposals for clients.
  • Coordination and scheduling of field assessments while proactively managing project-related tasks.
  • Oversight of hazardous material assessments: identification, quantification, and assessment/sampling of suspect materials.
  • Oversight of assessments related to indoor air quality: identification of potential contaminants, assessment of building envelope for moisture intrusion, inspection of ventilation systems, and sampling for various parameters including mold.
  • Evaluating and interpreting sampling data while mentoring field staff and subcontractors.
  • Preparing/reviewing/approving project designs, reports, plans, specifications, and other project deliverables.
  • Maintaining existing client relationships and developing new partnerships.
  • Tracking and meeting project deadlines and budgets, invoicing, and driving project closeout.
  • Assisting with marketing and business development, including preparing bids and proposals.
  • Must be familiar with OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of project management experience.
  • BA/BS degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or other related science.
  • CIH, CHMM, CSP, or ASP or in progress with any of these.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Licenses/Certifications:

  • EPA Asbestos Building Inspector, Asbestos Supervisor, and/or Designer in MD, DC, and/or VA. Competency in indoor air quality and microbial assessments.
  • Experience and effectiveness in leading a small team of IH field technicians.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control.
  • Willing to regularly travel within the Baltimore-D.C. metro area; and VA.

Requirements:

  • To be considered for the position, candidates must have a reliable personal vehicle, up-to-date auto insurance, and a valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in using XRF equipment and other inspection tools once trained.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret and record data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Possess essential computer competencies, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience conducting lead-based paint inspections is preferred; however, the necessary training will be provided to a candidate who demonstrates the potential and aptitude for this position. In this case, Arc will compensate for the cost and time associated with the following requirements:

Desired Licenses/Certifications:

  • Complete an Accredited Training Course: Enroll in and successfully complete an EPA-accredited Lead Inspector Training course
  • Pass Certification Exam: After completing the training course, you must pass a certification exam administered by an EPA-approved certifying body. The exam tests your knowledge of lead-based paint inspection practices and regulatory requirements.
